Coming Soon! My First Full Length Album, and a West Coast CD Release Tour!

So Many Things have been in the works this Winter!

It’s been a long haul through the cold winter months, but here I am, coming out on the other side, and almost finished with my album!  I can’t wait to share it with you all.

I’ll be heading to the West Coast in May to remount Bootstrap Theatre Foundation’s production of Hanging Georgia: a play with music about Georgia O’Keefe.  You can come see me playing the Ukelele, singing, and acting in this wonderful play, being produced at the Pear Avenue Theatre in Palo Alto in May.

The cast of Hanging Georgia at the Thick House in San Francisco, 2011.

Then I’ll be hitting the road to promote, and share my new album!  I’m locking down venues and dates, and am looking forward to hitting up many towns along the Northern California coast, and Oregon.  Stay tuned for more info!

Winter! Recording! Gigs!

Thanks to all of your support and generosity, I’ve had a wonderful month in the studio with Don Godwin, Nathan Ellman-Bell, Jesse Lynch, Spiff Wiegand, Heather Cole, and Wayne Smith.

Everything is sounding great, and if all goes according to the plans, I’ll be able to release my album by May!  If you contributed to my Indiegogo campaign, THANK YOU!!!!  Keep your eyes peeled for rewards, coming soon!

Also, I’m happy to have some upcoming gigs!  I’ll be at Spike HIll this month, and back at Pianos in January.  Check out my calendar for details!

Help me make my first full length album!

Hello friends!

I hope you are enjoying this transition into settling in , intention building, and harvesting as much as I am.  I’m so happy to be back in New York, hunkering down, and getting to work!
Several exciting things are happening in my world, and I want to make sure you know about them!

My Indiegogo campaign is live!!

After conceptualizing this project, and getting a crackerjack team together, I’ve finally put together my campaign to raise the funds to produce my first full length album!! Please check out my campaign, and consider donating to make this project a reality.  Your generosity will pay for the costs of engineering, mixing, mastering, printing, and distributing the album, as well as paying a very talented bunch of musicians.

You can check it out here:
http://www.indiegogo.com/julietstrong

We go into the studio November 14th, and I’m optimistic about reaching my fundraising goal of $6500 by November 13th.  I’m pushing the $1000 mark…  But I still need your help! If you can spare 5 minutes and $5 dollars, it would be an immense help to me (and you’ll get your very own mp3 in return!).

Even if you can’t contribute, I would love to have your help in spreading the word about my campaign.  If you would be willing to send this onto any mailing lists you have, or just post it to your Facebook page, it would make a HUGE difference!

Also, don’t forget to check my calendar for upcoming shows.  I’ll be at Spike Hill for a Halloween show on Oct. 30th.  And there’s more to come…  Come back and visit again soon!

Enter: Fall

After a long, unexplained hiatus from keeping up with my website, I’m back and better than ever!

It was a busy summer, full of movement, music, teaching, camping, and driving!  I want to thank everyone who took part and joined me on my summer journey.  I spent many hours, on the West Coast, driving my dad’s 1991 Honda Accord up and down and all around.  Five weeks, eleven states, and about 4,000 miles later, I’m back in NYC and hunkering down for the Fall season.

The most exciting announcement I have is the recording my first full length album.  I’ve had a meeting with the very talented Don Godwin, who will be engineering the album.  We’ll be recording 10 tracks with a five piece band.  I’m really excited to get this music recorded, and out to YOU!

Soon, I will be launching an indiegogo campaign to raise $5,000-$7,000, which will cover the costs of recording, mixing, mastering, paying some really talented musicians, and printing CDs.  There’s so much to do, and I’m counting on all of the wonderful people in my life to help me make this happen!

In the meantime, I’m playing some shows in the next couple of months, getting back to my students, and working hard on arranging, practicing, and rehearsing for this album!  I hope to see you along the way real soon!

And thanks to everyone who has helped me out so far by playing music, sharing info, being a friend, feeding me, and sharing love, and warmth.  I love NYC!

It’s That Time Again!

As I prepare for big changes, I’m happy to be heading up to Yosemite National Park again to partake in the merriment that is the Bracebridge Dinner!

I’ll be strumming the lute and singing as the Minstrel in the seven course dinner show.  You can also come up, enjoy the majestic sights, and enjoy FREE concerts in the historic Ahwahnee Hotel’s Great Lounge.  Check out the calendar here

Stay tuned for updates once I make the leap to the other coast!  I’ll be setting up shop in Brooklyn, New York in January, 2012!

Home for a Spell

Happy Fall Equinox!  Now is the time for setting intentions. clarifying about what we want to cultivate and giving thanks for all that the warm, solar season has brought us.

I’ve been so grateful to have opportunities for creating music and theatre with so many talented and generous artists this year!  I want to share what’s happening in my world, and invite you to join in on the fun!

Hanging Georgia, written by Sharmon J. Hilfinger, tells the story of Georgia O’Keeffe’s love relationship and marriage with the famous photographer and art dealer, Alfred Stieglitz. At the center of the American Modern Art movement, O’Keeffe and Stieglitz live a life of passion and drama in a Bloomsbury-like environment of artists and writers. O’Keeffe’s rise to fame is astounding. How does a woman in the early 1900′s command the highest prices on the American art market and maintain her artistic independence?

And once again, I’m preparing for the wonderful winter season, which means Christmas in Yosemite!  The Bracebridge Dinner is just around the corner. You can indulge and attend one of the extravagant dinners, complete with a gourmet seven course meal and hours of entertainment.  Or you can plan a short getaway, stay at the Yosemite Lodge, and attend one of the many FREE concerts offered at the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Keep your eyes peeled for November gigs and new tracks to come!    And as always, endless thanks for your continued love and support.

Peace, Love, and Light,

Juliet
